After 22 years working in a variety of therapeutic settings including wilderness therapy programs and therapeutic boarding schools, Jeremy now draws on his experience to assist families with children transitioning back home. Being familiar with the work done and progress made in both wilderness and TBS settings, Jeremy is well-positioned to assist families during this important time. Transition coaching begins with a focus on retaining the progress made and expands into continual strengthening of the family after residential treatment.
When transitioning from residential treatment to life at home, families are challenged with balancing the tasks of establishing and maintaining boundaries in the home environment while also nurturing improvements in family relationships. There is tremendous opportunity in this transition, and, with high-quality coaching, families can develop their relationships in ways that benefit them for years to come.
Parenting is never easy, and the challenges can feel overwhelming when a child is struggling. While parents desire safety and success for their children, there can be many questions about how a parent might best have influence.
Jeremy has worked with parents and families in a variety of therapeutic settings for over 20 years. Drawing on this experience, he helps parents and other family members to examine both their agreements and disagreements, times of joy and times of conflict, and to find their way forward by further developing and maintaining meaningful relationships.
For effective trauma treatment to occur, there must be a sense of safety in the therapeutic relationship. Having treated trauma for many years, Jeremy is skilled at holding space for a client and moving into the work that is needed in a way that is both gentle and deliberate.
Throughout his career as a therapist, Jeremy has sought out effective means of treating trauma. He has training in EMDR (Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Brainspotting, and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Any of these approaches and others may be used in the course of trauma treatment.
Traumatic experiences can lead us to feel as though danger is everywhere. While very difficult things do happen, we need to find a way, while honoring the weight of past events, to also put events in their appropriate place. Like anything worth doing, this is easier said than done. We can do this difficult work together.
Trying to be the best version of yourself but not sure how to do it in a world that constantly tells you that masculinity is toxic?
Men's mental health has largely been overlooked. Jeremy believes in building men up in a world that often focuses on the toxic traits of masculinity and patriarchy. He is passionate about working with men who want to better their lives.
Many have internalized the idea that embracing masculinity is damaging to romantic relationships and marriages. The opposite can be true. If we earnestly examine what masculinity is and what its value may be, we can come away with an understanding that benefits all our relationships.
Seeking counseling or coaching can be a significant step in taking responsibility for our lives. This acceptance of responsibility and commitment to self-examination can reveal a greater sense of confidence and capability than was previously known.

Anxiety is a normal part of being a person. In some cases, it gets amplified to a level that is difficult to manage. Anxiety can become much more easily manageable when the right work is done. Jeremy teaches clients how to recognize their anxiety and the areas in which it is impacting them. He teaches effective techniques for emotional regulation and managing intrusive thoughts. In many cases, improvement can begin quickly.
Often, once a client has made progress in managing their anxiety, they choose to work on its underlying causes. This deeper work can take the form of talk therapy, Brainspotting, or EMDR.
In couples therapy as well as family therapy, Jeremy assists each person in exploring their wants and needs and effectively communicating them. It is often necessary to focus on repairing connections before the work of correcting specific concerns can be effectively done. We work to identify common goals and desires and to respectfully navigate areas where individuals are not aligned.
Jeremy practices Attachment-Based Therapy focusing on understanding the client and helping them to explore themselves along with their motivations, desires, and goals. Areas of specialty include anxiety, depression, and trauma treatment. The approaches and techniques used in individual therapy will vary depending on the client and the presenting problem.
Jeremy will thoroughly discuss each client's concerns and potential approaches before implementing any particular technique. Clients always have the right to guide their therapy.
Life's challenges are not always connected to a diagnosable condition. We all struggle. For some of us, life coaching can be the most appropriate method of support. With life coaching, we examine the stresses and obstacles that lie in the path as well as the path itself. Clients are helped to feel empowered, and, from an empowered stance, to make a plan to move toward their goals.
